About Us
Patients First Medical Centers were created from the idea that family and urgent care medical services could be provided within the same atmosphere. The founding partner group consists of family practice physicians, a business manager with an expertise in marketing, and a certified public accountant. We now have a total of 7 locations. The centers on Apalachee Parkway and North Monroe Street opened in March and May of 1989 respectively. The Kerry Forest center opened in January of 1993 and the Appleyard location followed in July of 1997, Lake Ella opened in August of 2000. Our Raymond Diehl center opened in April 2006 next to outback steak house on Captial Circle. Our newest center which is on Mahan Drive opened in August of 2007. First, each Patients First Medical Center has a strong family practice base. All physicians have their specialty in family medicine, with the exception of Dr. Suzanne Morgan (specialty - Internal Medicine). In addition, Dr. Len Goff spends his time caring for the many workers compensation patients who come to us from various companies in the area. Also employed at each of the centers are Nurse Practioners and Physician Assistants, who assist the providers in various ways. Secondly, Patients First has a strong urgent care patient flow. The centers have extended hours of services in the evenings and on weekends to allow for unplanned illnesses and injuries. The centers are not direct competitors of emergency rooms, but offer an alternative for non-emergency urgent medical treatment. Thirdly, Patients First provides a variety of medical services for area companies. The occupational medical plan is greatly marketed and offered during regular business hours, as well as, evenings and weekends. This is especially attractive to employers who have high volumes of drug testing, pre-employment physicals and on-the-job injuries.
